Kagetsu : PhotoStory

A man in Kyūshū renounces the world after his child is abducted by a tengu long-nosed goblin. At Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto, the monk meets a youth called Kagetsu.

The multitalented Kagetsu introduces a kouta popular song at the suggestion of a man he knows in front of the temple.

Together, the man and Kogetsu sing “Love Is Trouble.”

Kagetsu takes out an arrow to aim at a bush warbler that has scattered the cherry blossoms.

He changes his mind about shooting, as the teachings of Buddha forbid the taking of life.

The monk recognizes that Kagetsu is his child and introduces himself. Kagetsu is overjoyed and decides to join his father on the Buddhist path. He beats a small kakko drum and dances, remembering.

He recalls being taken by the tengu and unhinged days of music and dancing.

Now I discard the sasara (a musical instrument from ancient China for beating time) and set off on a journey with my father.
