Chō Ryō (Zhang Liang) : PhotoStory

Huang Shigong (literally, “the man of yellow stone”) came to a dirt-paved wooden bridge to meet Zhang Liang (Chō Ryō in Japanese) and teach him the secrets of military strategy.

Zhang Liang was late once, but this time he arrives early and waits in good spirits.

To test the will of Zhang Liang, a shoe is thrown into the river. Right away, Zhang Liang goes after it.

The shoe is taken by a giant snake. Zhang Liang stays calm and confronts it.

The shoe is brilliantly taken back and placed on the foot of Huang Shigong.

Huang Shigong gets off his horse and takes out a scroll of military strategies.

The scroll is bestowed on Zhang Liang. Afterwards, the giant snake becomes the guardian deity of Zhang Liang. In an auspicious omen, Huang Shigong transforms into a yellow boulder.
